Abstract:

To provide a composition and method for screening a compound capable of modulating gene expression of endogenous tissue morphogens, particularly osteoplastic protein-1 (OP-1) and closely related proteins.

Disclosed are a method and composition for screening a compound for an ability to modulate expression of tissue morphogenetic proteins, particularly OP-1, OP-1 homologs and closely related proteins, using one or more OP-1-specific, noncoding nucleotide sequences and a suitable reporter gene.
