Abstract:

To provide a method for recovering valuable metals by using an induction heating furnace, in which a trouble caused by foaming of carbon dioxide (CO2) is reduced, enabling efficient recovery of valuable metals.SOLUTION: A method for recovering valuable metals (Cu, Ni, Co) includes following steps: of preparing a charging material containing at least valuable metals as a raw material; and heating and melting the raw material into an alloy and slag. When the raw material is heated and melted, an induction heating furnace is used that includes an induction heating body and a refractory lining provided inside the induction heating body; and calcium oxide (CaO) as flux is charged into the raw material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
