Abstract:
To provide a locking device for a shoji which is configured so that a sliding bar falls under its own weight and prevents a sliding door from moving arbitrarily, even if an operating handle is released, in the locking device for a shoji in which a sliding bar is moved up and down by an operating handle to engage and disengage a lock pin from a locking piece to lock and unlock the sliding door.SOLUTION: By rotating an operating handle, a slide bar 2 is guided by a slide guide 9 and reciprocates straight. The slide guide 9 has a substantially U-shaped cross section and has a guide cover 24 and a resin guide 25 mounted inside the guide cover 24. When the resin guide 25 is attached to the guide cover, an acting portion 34 of the resin guide bends inward and comes into contact with a slide bar 2 with elastic frictional action. Thereby, a frictional restraint force is given to a movement of the slide bar so that the slide bar can be kept from falling even if an operation handle is released.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
