Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a methylphenyl polysiloxanediol, its manufacturing method, and a liquid radiation-curable resin composition which comprises a urethane acrylate oligomer to be derived from this polysiloxane and having good compatibility with an organic compound, can obtain a cured product having a high refractive index and a low Tg (glass transition temperature), and is useful as the primary coating material for an optical fiber. SOLUTION: The methylphenyl polysiloxanediol having hydroxyl groups at the terminals is represented by average structural formula (1) (wherein R<1> , R<2> , and R<3> are each a divalent hydrocarbon group; m and n are each an integer of >=0; p, q, and r are each an integer of >=1; s and t are each an integer of >=0 and s and t are simultaneously not 0; and b is an integer of >=1).
