To provide a Meyer bar coating apparatus capable of enhancing quality of coating by certainly preventing excessive coating scraped off by the Meyer bar from being deposited on an uncoated area of a material to be coated.
The Meyer bar 3 for scraping off the excessive coating of the coating coated on the material W to be coated is received and rotatably supported to a retaining groove 14 of a Meyer bar support block 10. An uncoated groove 20 in which the Meyer bar 3 is not contacted with an inner surface of the retaining groove 14 is provided on a portion corresponding to the uncoated area W3 set on the material W to be coated. The excessive coating flowing from the retaining groove 14 to the uncoated area W3 side is dropped off to the uncoated groove 20. Thereby, the excessive coating is prevented from being deposited on the uncoated area W3.
