Title:
MICRO-CARRIER FOR CELL CULTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0420284
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the subject carrier composed of water-insoluble vinyl polymer particles having positively chargeable chemical residues and hydrophobic residues introduced to the surface, suitable for the cultivation of animal cells, having excellent adhesivity and proliferativity of cell and capable of firmly keeping cells on the surface even after long-term cultivation.

CONSTITUTION: The objective carrier is composed of water-insoluble polymer particles consisting of polymerizable vinyl monomer unit and containing 0.1-3.5m- equivalent (based on 1g of dried particle) of positively chargeable chemical residue and 1-40mol% of a polymerizable monomer unit having ≥5C hydrophobic residue (preferably phenoxyethyl acrylate, etc.). The monomer having positively chargeable residue is e.g. hydroxyethylamino-2-hydroxypropyl methacrylate.
