Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly and reliably cut and peel an end sheet which covers an end face of a roll of paper in a continuous manner.
SOLUTION: The mirror-finishing apparatus for rolled paper comprises a rolled paper supporting device 2 for rotatably supporting a roll of paper P wrapped by a mill wrapper or an end sheet, an end sheet peeling device 4 for cutting an outer periphery of the end sheet covering an end face of the roll P along an entire periphery, and an end sheet removing device 5 for pinching and removing the end sheet which has been cut and peeled. The removing device 5 is provided to be movable toward a mirror-finished surface of the roll P and includes a rotatable pressing disk 59 which has an opening at the center and comes into contact with the end sheet when cutting it to kept the end sheet pressed against the end face of the roll P, and a catching claw 61 which is provided to be capable of advancing/retreating from the disk 59, is inserted into a cylindrical core P" of the roll P through the center of the end sheet from the opening of the disk 59 and pinches several portions on an opening periphery formed at the center of the end sheet between the claw 61 and the disk 59.
