To provide a mist generator the mist generation amount of which is not restricted and which can eliminate contamination of water stored in a treatment chamber.
Water w stored in a treatment chamber 12 returns to a jacket 28 through a circulation path 40 and is sprayed to a peripheral wall 22 of a rotor 18 from a spray nozzle 30. The sprayed water w spreads to the entire peripheral wall 22, collides with it, and splits, and fragments when passing through micropores 24 provided on the peripheral wall 22. Furthermore, the water w accelerates by a centrifugal force of the rotor 18 and collides with a cover 32 to be crushed into fine mists m with a diameter of 10 to 100 nm. The mist m passes through a notch 32b and a bypass s and is discharged through a discharge port 38 to a cooling space of a refrigeration storage. Ozonated water is supplied from an ozonated water generator 58 to the treatment chamber 12 when a mist generator 10 stops, and bacteria and molds can be removed by a bactericidal action of the ozonated water.
