Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide mite-controlling fiber which has a sufficient level of mite- controlling effect and causes no deterioration of this effect by using and washing with safety, its production and mixed yarns containing the same.
SOLUTION: This mite-controlling fiber is made of a thermoplastic resin, contains 0.2-10wt.% of microfine particles of a boric acid ceramic which can elute B2O3 at a rate of 1-300mg/g/hr at 30°C and has a polylobal fiber cross section. The mite-controlling fiber is produced by formulating 0.2-10wt.% of the microfine particles to the thermoplastic resin, melt-extruding the formulated resin through a spinneret of polylobal cross section, drawing the extruded yarn followed by treatment of the yarn with heat under a relaxed condition. The objective mite-controlling mixed yarn comprises the mite-controlling fibers and the mile-not-controlling fibers in which the content of the boric acid ceramics is ≥0.2wt.% based on the whole of the yarn.
