A projector part 20 is capable of projecting an image displayed on an image display device 30 onto a screen 40 or the like. The projector part 20 controls the quantity of projection light in accordance with an ambient illuminance measured by an illuminance measuring part 23. In the case of a low ambient illuminance, projection with the quantity of projection light reduced is possible, and the power consumption of the mobile terminal can be suppressed. The illuminance measuring part 23 is moved to the image display device 30 side and the quantity of light emission of a back light source 34 is controlled in accordance with the ambient illuminance of the image display device 30, whereby the power consumption of the mobile terminal can be suppressed.
