Abstract:

PURPOSE: To manufacture a modified woody material of superior resistance to water, resistance to staining and dimension stability.

CONSTITUTION: Treating liquid composed of a polymeric liquid resin composition such as a liquid unsaturated polyester resin composition or a liquid polyester (meth)acrylate resin composition, into which an aliphatic aldehyde acetal such as 1, 3, 5-trioxyan and a curable catalyst are dissolved is impregnated, into a woody material, and the resin composition is integrated with the woody material to form WPC (composition of woody material and plastic) by the reaction of the cyclic acetal and hydroxylgroup of the woody material in the treated liquid.
