Title:
MODULE FOR CELL CULTURE HAVING VASCULAR PLEXUS-LIKE STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3725147
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an organic body in which an animal cell is survivable for a long period without damaging its intrinsic function, and a module which is provided with such organic body in a high density and is available to the production of useful materials and hybrid artificial organs.
SOLUTION: A cell culture module provides a structure in which hollow fibers penetrated through each small hole of two or more spacers having regularly arranged small holes are regularly laid at a minute gap. An artificial liver module is a module in which hepatic cells are filled to the cell culture module. A cell culturing method comprises filling cells into the inner space or external space of the hollow fiber in the cell culture module by using centrifugal force and culturing the filled cells. In the cell culturing method, the liver cells are cultured in a culture medium containing DMEM as a basal medium.
