Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a mold for continuous casting machine having excellent abrasion resistance and sand burning resistance by coating an alloy consisting of specific ratios of Co, Mo and Cr to specific thickness on a plating layer formed on the inside surface of the mold.
CONSTITUTION: A plating layer having about 30W200μ thickness is formed on the inside surface of a mold. A Co-Mo-Cr alloy layer consisting of 45W65wt% Co, 20W40wt% Mo and the balance Cr is coated at 50W700μ thickness by a melt-spraying method on said plating layer. The life of the mold is prolonged remarkably.
