Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a mold level meter to make automatic start and automatic stop of continuous casting possible by improving measuring precision and response of molten metal level and enabling measurement of molten metal level height regardless of molten metal surface conditions and casting conditions.
CONSTITUTION: The thermo couples 1a-1d are arranged at ≥ four places different in height in the mild A for measuring precision improvement. A search time of PC10 is shortened, computation of the molten metal height L is based on the characteristic regression formula different at casting start and during casting to improve measuring responsiveness. Precise measurement is made by providing the molten metal agitating mode and power casting mode despite variation in molten metal surface conditions and heat conductivity. Temp. gradient is compensated by adjacent thermo couples at the time of failure of the thermo couples 1a-1d. Automatic start and automatic stop are made possible through detecting two different casting starting temp. and casting finish temp. by arranging the thermo couple 2 for start and stop.
