To provide a molded lightning arrester and its manufacturing method capable of economically manufacturing by using components used in a lightning arrester in common as much as possible and improving its workability.
One end of a supporting insulator is supported by a supporting arm of a steel tower, and the other end of the supporting insulator supports a power-transmission line. Arc horns are oppositely arranged on the supporting insulator respectively at a steel tower side and at a power-transmission line side. The lightning arrester 6 is mounted in parallel on the supporting insulator, and a discharging gap formed with electrodes is provided in the lightning arrester 6. The lightning arrester 6 is integrally molded of a coating insulating material 15 by preparing terminals 13 and 14 on both ends of a laminated body in which a plurality of lightning elements 10 are laminated. The plurality of lightning elements and at least one conductive spacer for adjusting the laminated dimension are laminated to form the lightning arrester in a designated laminated dimension L, and the lightning elements and conductive spacer are arranged in a fiberglass reinforced plastic insulating cylinder 12 at a state compressed by a spring 11.
