Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding condition monitoring device in a forging press which can predict the occurrence of abnormal molding and also can exactly detect the abnormal molding if it occurs.
SOLUTION: The monitoring device is installed in the forging press equipped with a knockout mechanism having a knockout pin 23 which separates a molded forging from a mold, to monitor abnormal molding by the forging press. The monitoring device is equipped with a reaction force detecting means 30 which detects reaction force given to the knockout pin 23 from the forging when the forging is separated from the mold by means of the knockout pin 23. The reaction force detecting means 30 is capable of enhancing the precision of detecting abnormal molding and predicting and judging the timing of the occurrence of abnormal molding.
