To provide a monitoring device which allows deterioration of comfort when sleeping and being seated to be avoided and is attached to an existing body support device afterward.
The monitoring device 4 includes: a transmission part 10 for transmitting radio waves toward a monitored person 100 on a bed 1; a receiving part 11 for receiving reflection waves of the radio waves; a detection part 12 for detecting a time fluctuation of signal intensity of a received radio wave S2 for every delay time of the received radio waves S2 received by the receiving part 11 for a transmitted wave S1 transmitted from the transmission part 10; and a state determination part 13 for determining a state of the monitored person 100 on the basis of a result of detection by the detection part 12.
