Title:
MONITORING METHOD OF TRANSPORT REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3423019
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a method for monitoring a cargo space cooled by a transport refrigeration system so as to detect the restriction of an airflow caused by inappropriate loading.
CONSTITUTION: Different 'windows' of acceptable and marginal performance are obtained in the form of difference between minimum magnitudes of ΔT, that is, the algebraic difference between the return (discharge) and feed (supply) air temperatures, as a function of ambient and return air temperatures. The transport refrigeration system 20 is thus monitored at all times, during both cooling and hot-gas heating modes (including during initial temperature pull down of the cargo space), enabling an early warning to be generated for a marginal performance, and an early shut down to be initiated for unacceptable performance. In a preferred embodiment, a maximum value of ΔT is also obtained, which, if exceeded by the actual ΔT, indicates a restricted airflow in the cargo space 90.
