Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an irregular-shape cross section monofilament which has a shape allowing easy engagement by pushing into grooves.SOLUTION: A monofilament of a thermoplastic resin is composed of a first engagement part and a second engagement member capable of engagement with an other member and a connection part connected to the first engagement member and the second engagement member. In the cross section of the monofilament perpendicular to the fiber axis direction, with the direction along the connection part connecting the first engagement part and the second engagement part together as the connection direction and the direction perpendicular to the connection direction as the width direction, the length of the monofilament in the connection direction is 0.8-1.5 mm, and the minimum value of the connection part in the width direction is 0.1-0.3 mm and smaller than both the lengths of the first engagement part and the second engagement part in the width direction. Of the first engagement part and the second engagement part, one engagement part is connected to the connection part with a contour line of an angle to the connection direction of 90° or smaller, and the length of the other engagement part in the width direction is 0.3-1.0 mm. The cross section is thus irregular-shape.
