To reduce a power loss at low torque and high-speed rotation.
Using secondary side target voltage characteristics (Fig. 4), a secondary side target voltage Vuc*m corresponding to a rotation speed, which is assigned to a target torque T* of a motor 10 m, is derived, wherein the secondary side target voltage characteristics rise at a first slope k1 of a steep slope along with a rise of the rotation speed by two-phase modulation, are switched to a third slope k3 of a gentle slope at the first rotation speed 1 which starts field-weakening control, and are switched to a second slope k2 which is different from the third slope k3 at the second rotation speed 2 to switch to one pulse which energizes with a square wave a modulation mode in all phases. Namely, secondary side target voltage characteristics (Fig. 6) which are raised at a conventional fixed steep slope are switched to the third slope k3 which is the gentle slope at an approximate rotation speed to start the field-weakening control, and are changed to such ones as switch to the second slope k2 for one pulse in an approximate range where a voltage control mode is set to one pulse.
