Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively and swiftly suppress fluctuations in torque due to overshoot in a motor current.
SOLUTION: A torque sensor 10 for detecting steering torque, a motor current detecting means 9 for detecting motor currents as absolute values, and a motor current target value calculating means 1, which calculates a motor current target value according to detection values for the torque signal and the like, are provided. At least integration control is exercised corresponding to the difference between the motor current target value and the motor current detection value, and thereby a motor 8 is driven. When the motor current target value is zero or the direction of current passage is switched, integration terms calculated by the integration control are initialized.
