To provide a very reliable motor controller which, being simple- structured at low cost, can shorten a start-up time and can eliminate a bad start-up even if load torque increases and also provide an image recorder with such a motor controller.
This motor controller has a power supply 1 for driving a motor and a power supply 2 for controlling. An engine controller 34 generates a first supply voltage change signal S1 at the start-up of a motor 4. An FET 9 is on/off-controlled by the signal S1 through a usual feedback circuit and IC8 for controlling a power supply, and the output voltage of the power supply 1 for driving a motor is increased and then a start-up time for the motor 4 is shortened. When the motor 4 reaches a specified rotating speed, a second supply voltage change signal S2 is generated and the output voltage of the power supply 1 is changed again in response to the signal S2.
