PURPOSE: To prevent a motor from being damaged when a wheel falls out, and to enhance riding comfortableness and steerage by bringing the ground contact point of a tire near to the supporting point of the wheel.
CONSTITUTION: A driving device case 11 is fitted to a vehicle body via a suspension 19, and a motor 24 is provided in the motor chamber 15 of the driving device case 11. A wheel disc 45 that has been rotatably supported is housed in the driving device case 11. A brake disc 44 is fixed to the wheel disc 45, and a tire 47 is fitted on the outer circumferential periphery of a cylindrical part 45b. On the inner circumferential side of the motor 24, a planetary gear unit 31 is arranged so as to have the same axial position. The rotation of the motor 24 is changed by the planetary gear unit 31, and is transmitted to the tire 47 via the wheel disc 45. The pad of a brake caliper 48 selectively holds the brake disc 44 therebetween for braking an electric automobile.
