The motor type vehicle drive apparatus 1 includes: driving wheels 6 having tires 67 and wheels 64; a motor 7 disposed on the chassis 20 and having an output shaft (rotor 72) outputting drive torque for rotating and driving the wheels 64 of the driving wheels 6; an output shaft 31 rotatably connected to the output shaft 72 of the motor 7 and transmitting the driving torque to the wheels 64 of the driving wheels 6; and a torque restriction mechanism 5 disposed at the output shaft 72 of the motor 7 and the output shaft 31, keeping the connected state until the transmitted torque reaches predetermined torque, and generating a slide to restrict the transmitted torque when exceeding the predetermined torque.
