Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body structure of a motorcycle making it possible to readily perform maintenance work on a cylinder head with an engine mounted on a body frame.SOLUTION: In a motorcycle, a four-cycle engine 20 is mounted on a body frame 10 including a head pipe 11, a pair of right and left tank rails 14, a sole down frame extending downward from the head pipe 11, and right and left reinforcement members 17 that couple the down frame with the pair of right and left tank rails 14. The engine 20 has a cam chain disposed on one of the rightward and leftward flanks of a cylinder assembly 22. Electrical components mounted in the body frame 10 and engine 20 are interconnected with wiring harnesses 46. The wiring harnesses 46 are laid down over the internal surfaces of the reinforcement members 17 of the body frame 10 which are placed on the other one of the rightward and leftward flanks of the cylinder assembly 22 on which the cam chain is disposed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
