Title:
MOUNTING APPARATUS FOR SCALE AND ENCODER USING THE APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3221079
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make an apparatus small by receiving a luminous flux passing through an opening of a scale by a photodetecting means which has an opening of the same cycle as that of the scale integrally formed on a part of the photodetecting surface thereof, and detecting the relative moving data of the scale and the photodetecting means with the use of the output signals.
CONSTITUTION: A luminous flux projected from a light emitting element 1 is bent by a mirror 2 and turned to a parallel luminous flux by a lens 3, and sent to a scale 4. The luminous flux of those sent into the sale 4 which passes an opening of a slit array 4a and an opening of a slit array 5a of a photodetecting means 5 is received by a photodetecting element 12. When the scale 4 moves in accordance with the movement of a measuring object, the passing luminous flux is modulated owing to the shutter effect of the openings of the slit array 4a and the slit array 5a. The modulated luminous flux is received by the element 12. Data such as the moving amount of the object, etc., is obtained based on the signals of the element 12. Since the slit array 5a corresponding to the scale 4 is integrally provided on the photodetecting surface of the photodetecting element 12, the apparatus becomes compact and can be assembled and adjusted with saved labor.
