Title:
MOUNTING SCREW RETENTION STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2007071321
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a mounting screw retention structure for preventing the mounting screw from interfering with the other parts as well as preventing the same from dropping out.

In a fastening portion 45 for fastening an upper holding portion 70 and a lower holding portion 73 together using the mounting screw 48, a surrounding area of an upper threaded screw hole 71 and the upper holding portion 70 located at an upper side of the hole 71 are formed as a guide, on whose inner wall a salient 72 is provided. On loosening the mounting screw 48, a head of the mounting screw 48 gets stuck with the salient 72 to be held at a position where the mounting screw gets released from its engaging state with a lower threaded screw hole 74. Since an apical end of the guide is formed smaller than the head of the mounting screw 72 in diameter, even if the upper holding portion 70 is turned upside down with the mounting screw 48 loosened, the mounting screw 48 doesn't drop off. Besides, since a salient amount of an apical end 48a of the mounting screw is small, the mounting screw 48 can move in the upper holding portion 70 without interfering with the other parts. The structure is suitable particularly for fastening a cover of an air cleaner box with a cramped peripheral space.
