To provide a movement restriction device for appropriately restricting the movement of a support leg portion of an apparatus or the like, such as a copy machine.
The movement restriction device 20 includes a first restriction portion 30 provided in the upper surface of a cylinder portion 23 formed at a table portion 21, and a second restriction portion 40 provided in the upper surface of a locking member 34 mounted over the first restriction portion 30. The first restriction portion 30 is formed to cover horizontal three sides of the support leg portion, and to be opened on the other horizontal side for the insertion of the support leg portion. The second restriction portion 40 is switched between a first state for opening an opening 32 of the first restriction portion 30 and a second state for closing the opening 32 of the first restriction portion 30 by the displacement of the locking member 34. A male thread portion 27 is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the cylinder portion 23, a female thread portion 38 for threadedly engaging with the male thread portion 27 is provided on the inner peripheral surface of the locking member 34, and the locking member 34 is rotated to be upwardly moved and abut on a supported object from below.
