Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase compression efficiency in a moving image encoding method and device for prediction encoding between compensated frames.
SOLUTION: A forward moving vector derived in forward moving vector retrieval for a P frame to each B frame to which bidirectional movement between the compensated frame prediction encoding should be operated is distributed as a forward moving vector, by reducing the size according to a frame distance between each B frame and a reference frame (I or P frame). Also, reverse moving vector retrieval is operated by using the I or P frame as the reference frame for the next frame of the I or P frame in the B frames, and the derived reverse moving vector is distributed as the reverse moving vector by reducing the size according to the frame distance between each B frame and the reference frame (I or P frame). Then, the prediction encoding is operated between bidirectional movement compensated frames by using the forward moving vector and the backward moving vector.
