Abstract:
PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for origin returning operation every time a robot stops at a specific work station where it works by mounting a battery which supplies electric power to an encoder all the time. CONSTITUTION:The signal processing part 4 of the encoder 3 utilizes the electric power from a connector 101 for electric power when the moving type industrial robot 1 stops at a specific work station. Then, when the robot moves to a next work station, the power supply from the connector 101 is cut off and the output voltage from a power unit 21 drops. Then, the voltage is detected by a detector 6 and a switch 8 is turned on by a voltage holder 7, so that electric power is supplied from a backup battery 5. Thus, the encoder 3 is supplied with electric power all the time, so the need for original returning operation every time the robot stops at the specific work station and is supplied with electric power is eliminated.
