Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-cylinder engine unit which achieves down-sizing and, at the same time, improves an assembly property in the multi-cylinder engine unit on which a two-shaft secondary balancer device is mounted.SOLUTION: In a four-cycle series four-cylinder engine unit 1, two balancer shafts 13, 14 are arranged before and behind with a crank shaft 12 interposed between, rotational power from the crank shaft 12 is directly transmitted to the balancer shaft 14 of a rear side and the rotational power from the crank shaft 12 is transmitted to the balancer shaft 13 of the front side via an idler gear 15a. A crank case 2 is divided into three in a vertical direction, a counter shaft 17 and a drive shaft 18 are arranged in the order from the front side on an upper split surface 9, and the idler gear shaft 15, the crank shaft 12 and the balancer shaft 14 of the rear side are arranged in the order from the front side on a lower split surface 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
