To provide a multi-wavelength light source without an outer modulator in an optical communication system.
The multi-wavelength light source includes a demultiplexer 220 which demutiplexes a multiplexed light signal input to a first port 222 into a plurality of light of various wavelength and outputs the demultiplexed light to each of a plurality of second ports 221, a multiplexer 210 which multiplexes the demultiplexed light from a plurality of third ports 212 one-to-one connected with second ports of the demultiplexer and outputs it to a fourth port 211 connected with the first port 222, a plurality of semiconductor optical amplifiers 230 which are located between the corresponding second ports 221 and third ports 212 mutually connected and amplify the demultiplexed light to output to the third ports, and a plurality of light intensity dividers 260 which are located between the corresponding third ports 212 and semiconductor optical amplifiers 230 mutually connected, divide a part of light amplified by the semiconductor optical amplifiers to output to the third ports, and output the remaining light to the outside.
