PURPOSE: To enable winding of a line even when it is fairly thin by a method wherein a plurality of winding plates and a pressurizing means to bring a winding plate and friction plates on both surfaces of the winding plate with each other are provided, and the winding plates are supported on a main shaft through a roll bearing.

CONSTITUTION: A winder is provided with a plurality of winding plates 22 rotatably supported on a main shaft 16, friction plates 26, locked on the main shaft 16 by means of a key, and a pressurizing means 28 to bring slip plates 24 and 24' on both surfaces of the winding plate 22 with each other through the medium of the friction plate 26. The winding plate 22 is supported on the main shaft 16 through roll bearing. Through rotation of the main shaft 16, a division line delivered through a slitter, not shown, is wound around the outer peripheral surface of each winding plate 22 of a winder body 18. In which case, since each winding plate 22 is supported by means of the roll bearing, even when winding is progressed and the own dead of the winding plate 22 is increased, the winding plate 22 is prevented from frictional engagement of the main shaft 16, and winding tension is prevented from an increase. This constitution enables reliable winding of a line even when the thickness thereof is low.
