Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a multiple-rotation type absolute encoder, which can surely reset the rotation speed for a multiple-rotation-speed resetting command even if the data of the amount of the multiple rotation is corrected.
CONSTITUTION: A rotating-amount holding/counting circuit 3 of a backup system of a circuit block 1 of a multiple-rotation-amount system sends multiple-rotation- amount data D, which are obtained based on incremental two-phase signals (a) and (b) outputted from a magnetic encoder 2, into a multiple-rotation-speed correcting circuit 8 through a multiple-rotation-amount data bus. A data conversion circuit part 6 of an absolute-address-system circuit block 4 in one rotation sends absolute-address data E in one rotation, which are obtained based on an absolute-value data (c) in one rotation and incremental two-phase signals (d) and (e) in one rotation outputted from an optical encoder 5, into a data output circuit 9 through an absolute address data bus in one direction. Furthermore, the absolute-system-circuit block 4 in one rotation is driven with the main power supply of an external controller and stopped when the supply of the electric power is stopped.
