To provide a multiple spindle lathe capable of applying mechanical work, without providing an additional mechanical element, on a frond side part and a rear side part of a workpiece long and small in diameter while a working space in the vicinity of a workpiece spindle of a rotating drum is not blocked up by another machine or tool.
This multiple spindle lathe includes the drum on which a plurality of the first workpiece spindles 4, 5 are provided, and an upright supporting structure to support the drum free to revolve. In the upright supporting structure, at parts where the workpiece spindles are provided, a plurality of cross slides 6 to respectively support a plurality of machining tools 7 are provided. On the front side of the upright supporting structure, a parallel guide crossing in the cross direction of a base part supporting the cross slides respectively having the second workpiece spindles is provided. A machining tool supporting structure having the machining tools to machine a rear side part of the workpiece is mounted on a slide member free to move in the vertical direction.
