Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a new ink ribbon for a typewriter free of ground stain while excellent in the sharpness and multistriking property by employing a specified composition of vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer for the resin component of an ink layer.

CONSTITUTION: In a multistrike ink ribbon comprising a film base material, a resin and an ink layer mainly composed of an oil incompatible therewith and a coloring agent, a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer arranged at a wt ratio of 60:40W79:21 between the vinyl chloride and the vinyl acetate is employed for the resin component of the ink layer. An adhesive such as polyester and polyurethane based ones can be provided at a thickness of about 1μ between the base material and the ink layer as required. For example, an ink composition can be the resin 20W40wt%, the oil 30W50wt% and the coloring agent 10W 40wt%.
