Abstract:
To obtain an sMAD3d polypeptide and a polynucleotide and to provide a method for producing such a polypeptide by a recombinant technique.
The polynucleotide comprises a nucleotide sequence that has at least 90% identity over its entire length to a nucleotide sequence encoding the sMAD3d polypeptide of SEQ ID NO2 (refer to the specification) and encoding a polypeptide having sMAD3d polypeptide activity or a nucleotide sequence complementary to the polynucleotide sequence. The sMAD3d polypeptide and the polynucleotide are useful for treating functional disorders or diseases including chronic renal failure, atherosclerosis and fibrosis and for diagnostic assays for such symptoms.
