Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce the electrocasting pattern having many through-holes by forming a conductive layer contg. many expandable plastic small spherical bodies in the pattern surface and expanding the small spherical bodies to rupture the conductive layer, then plating the surface with metal and removing the small spherical bodies.
CONSTITUTION: A soln. prepd. by mixing the microhollow spherical bodies 3 consisting of plastic which are expanded by heating and silver paste with a solvent is applied on the surface of the electrocasting pattern 1 made of an epoxy resin to form the conductive layer 2 contg. the many microhollow spherical bodies 3. This electrocasting pattern is heated to expand the microhollow spherical bodies 3 and to rupture the conductive layer on the surface, by which the cut conductive layers 2a are formed and the surfaces of the microhollow spherical bodies 3 are made nonconductive. The mold is then put into an electroplating liquid of Cu and is energized with the electrocasting pattern 1 as a negative electrode, by which a Cu plating layer 4 is deposited on the conductive layer 2 and the electrocasting shell is formed. The microhollow spherical bodies 3 made of the plastic are then dissolved by the solvent to form through-holes. The porous electrocasting mold is thus easily produced.
