PURPOSE: To realize the ticket examination processing of a former route ticket which is inserted into a ticket examination machine main body and to cancel the inconvenience of the double subtraction of a train fare by returning the former route ticket without processing it when entering data is written within a prescribed time into the former route ticket becoming a pair with an adjustment ticket.

CONSTITUTION: When two pieces of NG data exist in the inserted adjustment ticket (b'), and entering data does not exist in the former route ticket (c) which is inserted next, entering data is recorded into the former route ticket (c) and it is returned to a discharge port 11. Then, a door D is opened. When the former route ticket is once inserted into the ticket examination machine main body (a) and time is within prescribed time from insertion time, the former route ticket (b) which is inserted this time is not processed and returned to the discharge port. When time is not within prescribed time from previous entering time, previous entrance and this time adjustment are not necessarily matched. Thus, it is not appropriate to permit ticket examination in a case when entering data is that of yesterday, for example. In such a case, the former route ticket (c) and the adjustment ticket (b') are both returned and the door D is closed.
