Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method for measuring the size of a concrete pile of a simple shape and also a foundation structure of a complicated shape with being hardly influenced by the ground.
CONSTITUTION: A concrete pile or an elastic body such as a foundation, etc., has its proper resonant frequency corresponding to the material, size and shape. For example, when the resonance of longitudinal waves is utilized, a to-be- measured buried structure 10 is vibrated in the vertical direction by a hammer 21 or the like and, the propagating speed of longitudinal waves propagating in the structure and the resonant frequency in the vibrating direction are measured at 24, 25. The shape of the buried structure is operated and detected based on the measured resonant frequency and a predicted conditional formula of the resonance of the buried structure. The number of resonant frequencies to be extracted is substantially equal to that of unknown sizes. The unknown size is obtained by solving simultaneous equations of the resonance conditional formulae of the same number as that obtained by substituting the number of resonant frequencies.
