Title:
OPTICAL DATA STORAGE SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0682626
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a hologram system which combines two divergent beam from individual laser sources into two beams that are at a close interval and have a small angle of deviation, and its method.

CONSTITUTION: A hologram element 12 consists of a hologram 16 and a glass substrate 14. The hologram has a periodic Bragg angle plane 70 for a light incidence surface. Consequently, the hologram element receives 1st and 2nd laser beams 22 and 32 at a 1st angle to each other. The hologram element emits the laser beams at a 2nd angle to each other. The 2nd angle is smaller than the 1st angle. Consequently, the laser beams from the laser sources which are diverged widely are guided to the same optical channel to provide beams which are at a close interval for an optical data storage system for multiple beams.
