Title:
MAGNETIC SENSOR AND SIGNAL CONVERSION CIRCUIT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH074988
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent drop in detection sensitivity due to inversion of magnetization of a plurality of ferromagnetic thin film stripes constituting a magneto- resistance effect element with respect to an initial direction during repetitive operation from occurring, ragarding a magnetic sensor comprising the magneto- resistance effect element.

CONSTITUTION: A magneto-resistance effect element 2 is provided at a position shifted from the center of a magnetic pole face of a cylindrical magnet 1, preferably at a position in the direction shifted perpendicularly to a direction of movement of a magnetic object 3 to be detected. By this arrangement, a bias magnetic field parallel to the shifted direction to the magneto-resistance effect element 2 is applied, so that magnetization of all of a plurality of ferromagnetic thin film stripes constituting the magneto-resistance effect element 2 is directed in the the same direction. Therefore, even if an external magnetic field is repetitively applied, no inversion in magnetization occurs, thereby stabilizing detection sensitivity.
