PURPOSE: To obtain an optical information reproduction apparatus wherein both offsets of a focus-error signal and a track-error signal can be reduced effectively by a simple and low-cost constitution.
CONSTITUTION: Radiant light from a semiconductor laser 21 is image-formed on an optical recording medium 25 via an objective lens 24, its return light is separated from a forward passage by a beam splitter 23, the separated return light is separated into two luminous fluxes by a beam splitter 27 via a condensing lens 28, the luminous flux on one side is received by a photodetector 28 arranged at the front of the image formation point of the condensing lens 26. The luminous flux on the other side is received by a photodetector 29 arranged at the back of the image formation point of the condensing lens 26. At least one photodetector 28 out of the two photodetectors 28, 29 is divided into three by two nonparallel dividing lines 30a, 30b, and it is constituted of six divided light-receiving regions 28a, 28b, 28c, 284, 28e, 28f which have been divided into two by a dividing line 30c which is nearly at right angles to the central line of the dividing lines 30a, 30b.
