Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a MD system (mini disc) which can avoid loss of original data even when the failure in editing occurs.
SOLUTION: Data on a disc desired to edit are previously divided into sections each consisting of integral multiple (e.g. 12) of a cluster to be copied into a vacant area on the disc through a memory. At this point, as the last part is not finished just at 12 in the number of clusters, if a start point (L+12N:0:0) of the cluster following the data written by the N-1th processing is searched, the data is written at this point while an address (2H+1-L:i:j) corresponding to the atop point of the data written into the vacant area is written into a UTOC area.
