Abstract:
PURPOSE: To manufacture a homogeneous rod-like solid body from a hollow body by one work process without using a tool at a low cost in the method for deforming a tubular hollow body consisting of an amorphous material into a rod without using the tool by collapse (solidification).
CONSTITUTION: The outer dimension and inner dimension of the hollow body 2, the viscosity of the material in a collapse range 5, a pressure difference between a negative pressure formed inside the hollow body and an external pressure, the level of the negative pressure, the withdrawal speed of the rod 3, the supply speed of the hollow body, the rotation speed of the rod and the rotation speed of the hollow body are appropriately set. A stem-like body 6 provided with a cross-sectional area dimension smaller than the cross-sectional area dimension of the rod is formed along the axis of the hollow body in the direction opposite to the withdrawal direction of the rod from the collapse range.
