Abstract:
PURPOSE:To retard the decomposition of an electrolyte in a positive electrode even if charge discharge is repeated by containing a specific oxide in an oxide indicated in LixMnOy. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode 2 uses lithium or a lithium alloy as the active material and a positive electrode 1 uses an oxide indicated in LixMnOy (x and y each is a positive integer, and x and y have the relation of 2y-x>x) as the active material. Manganese oxide in which the valency of manganese is 3 or less is contained in the oxide indicated in LixMnOy. Decomposition of an electrolyte in charging is retarded without adverse effect on discharge performance and cycle performance is enhanced.
