Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an electromagnetic solenoid which does not produce wavy noise even when the solenoid is continuously operated and.in which a plunger is instantaneously attracted to and separated from a core without delay by making the outer peripheral part of the surface of the plunger or core facing the core or plunger higher than the inner peripheral part by forming a film or surface-modified layer on the outer peripheral part.
CONSTITUTION: A nitride layer 6c is formed on the upper surface 6a of the plunger 6 of an electromagnetic solenoid so that the outer peripheral part of the surface 6a can become higher than the inner peripheral part by 1-5μm. The layer 6c is formed on the upper surface 6a so that its outer peripheral part can become thicker than its inner peripheral part by 10-40μm. Therefore, the outer peripheral part of the surface 6a becomes higher than the inner peripheral part by 1-5μm when the layer 6c expands by about 10%.
