PURPOSE: To provide the display device having such a structure that the foreign matter infiltrating the inside of a space formed of a display panel and its protective plate does not affect a display screen.

CONSTITUTION: An interposing member 7 composed of an elastic member 5 and a tacky adhesive member 6 of the liquid crystal display device 1 constituted by providing the liquid crystal panel 4 with the protective plate 9 on the front end side via the interposing member 7 is so arranged as to enclose a display range 10. The foreign matter 12 infiltrating the inside of the space 8 formed by the display panel 4, the interposing panel 7 and the protective plate 9 is stick by the tacky adhesive member 6 outside the display region 10 and, therefore, foreign matter 12 does not appear in the display region 10 and the degradation in the visibility of the display is prevented at the time of the process of the production, etc. The labor of disassembling the device only for removal of the foreign matter in an assembly stage is eliminated and the need for executing the assembly stage in an extremely clean environment is eliminated. The reduction of costs is thus realized.
