Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide the radar for vehicle capable of speedily and accurately obtaining the distance between two cars and the relative speed after the vehicles are replaced. CONSTITUTION:The radar is provided with a means 2 measuring the distance between two cars which measures the distance between the self vehicle and the preceding vehicle, means 6 judging the replacement of the preceding vehicle whether or not the preceding vehicle is replaced by another one, filter means 9 relaxation-processing data on the distance between two cars from the means 2, arithmetic operation means 3 calculating the corrected distance between the two cars based on the data on the distance between two cars relaxed by the filter 9, and control means 7 reducing the degree of relaxation processing in the filter 9 during at least the prescribed time when the replacement information indicating that the preceding vehicle is replaced is detected.
