Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a lightweight setter suitable for automation or mechanization of a firing process by casting a foaming agent containing slurry obtained by adding a foaming agent into a mixture of raw materials in plate-like about the time of foaming and then firing.

CONSTITUTION: The slurry is formed by mixing oxide powders (e.g. MgO, Al2O3, ZrO2) which become a ceramic. The foaming agent (e.g. phenol-aldehyde condensation product alkali solution) is added into the slurry for molding. Next, the slurry is casted in a molding body flask at the time of foaming, molding while foaming, drying and firing to obtain the lightweight setter.
